Navistar Releases 340 Temporary Workers
Dated: 07-30-2010

163_news090218_00l_navistar_logoWest Point’s Navistar Defense facility has announced that they are currently in the process of layoff as many as 340 temporary workers starting this week. The layoffs will continue through next week.

In March, Navistar hired over 400 employees to finish work on a $752 million contract. The contract was an order for 1,050 Maxx-Pro mine-resistant armored vehicles.

Navistar received the contract in February, and anticipated the project taking three months.

According to Navistar Defense Spokeswoman Elissa Koc, “The company ramped up its contract work force in March to support the order.” However, as the work is winding down, the temporary workers are finding themselves unemployed.

Client Testimonials
"Recently, I was laid off from a major corporation. I had no idea how I was going to come back from such a sudden and unexpected event. I came to your company hoping for a cover letter explaining my situation and was pleasantly surprised by your writer's tact. I don't think there could be a better letter phrasing. Thank you so much. I will let you know how things turn out in the next few months. Cross your fingers for me!"
