The Importance of Encouragement
By: Harrison Barnes

Career Mission's Chief Executive Officer, A. Harrison Barnes, in a webinar discussed the importance of encouragement and how it changes the lives of people.

Harrison believes that encouragement is tremendously crucial to the success or failure of a person. No matter how strong you are mentally, everybody needs that extra push that will lead you to your destination. It is a fact that very few will ever achieve everything they are capable of, unless some person or group of people has believed in them. This belief that others have in you is priceless and can do wonders. It could make you do even that which may be considered as impossible. Others’ belief in you increases your confidence and helps you believe in yourself and your abilities. Hence, in order to succeed, you need to be in a supportive environment, which constantly encourages you, pushes you forward and nurtures you.

The same thing goes for others. If you put your faith in others and what they could do, you actually help a person accomplish great things. Harrison believes that you need to be that voice in the background, whispering words of encouragement into their ears. These people now rise to a higher level of achievement which they would not have experienced without your involvement. The most successful people focus on building up those around them instead of tearing them down. You need to have an impact on the lives of others such that after coming in contact with you, they know that they are much better and capable people.

Client Testimonials
"Thank you so much for my letter. It looks great and is in line with my expectations. This letter seems to convey much more enthusiasm. I truly appreciate your quick response."

"Working as a paralegal for the past ten years while taking care of my kids, I have found it hard to get my foot in the door for more serious positions. I thought I might have been presenting myself poorly, so I paid for a resume edit. The new version was so different and more detailed than my original. If only I had thought of this stuff ten years ago! Thanks for helping me with this. After completing coursework for my degree this term, I think I may finally be able to land a new position."
